Two contemporary, site-responsive family homes designed with a refined palette of materials, simple forms and carefully balanced proportions.
Discreetly accessed from the east, behind an existing stable block, the site is arranged along an east–west axis, following the natural gradient of the Gore Glen. The two houses are positioned in relation to a newly formed retaining wall, with one running parallel and the other perpendicular to it, creating a sensitive response to the site's topography.
Internally, both homes are organised to reveal views and visual connections to the Gore Glen as movement progresses from the entrance hall into the principal living spaces. At first floor, bedrooms and private areas are oriented to capture the changing morning and evening light, while framing expansive views across the Glen.
The two houses share a coherent architectural language and material palette, while responding individually to the site's contours, orientation and relationship with the surrounding landscape.
